It is a vigorous hard, woody perennial found in Eastern Europe but it is less common in the northern area. It is a well-known perennial plant with a characteristic scent and possesses multiple medicinal applications which includes emmenagogue, nervine, digestive, diuretic and diaphoretic, food flavoring and have insect repellent properties.
Blends with: cedar woods, clary sage, lavandin, patchouli, pines, oakmoss, rosemary and sage.
Constituents: Germacrene D, Caryophyllene, alpha-Zingiberene and Borneol.
Uses:
- It is used in colognes, perfumes and soaps.
- It is also used as a flavoring agent in cooking and as well as in beverages.
- It is used extensively for medicines.
