Natural Ocimene is a warm-herbaceous, citrus acyclic monoterpene. Ocimene occurs in nature in three different forms, α-Ocimene, cis-β-Ocimene, and trans-β-ocimene naturally found as mixtures. The α-Ocimene and two β-ocimenes differ in the position of the isolated double bond. The α-Ocimene is cis-3,7-dimethyl-1,3,7-octatriene and β-Ocimene is trans-3,7-dimethyl-1,3,6-octatriene. The ocimenes are often found naturally as mixtures of the various forms.
