Natural Linalool is naturally occurring unsaturated monoterpene alcohol found in several flowers and spice plants with many commercial applications. Isolation of linalool as a single compound from an essential oil can be achieved by using fractional distillation. It is commonly used in making of wide variety of household products.
Sources: Many plants produces linalool with members of the Lauraceae, Lamiaceae and Rutaceae accumulating linalool in abundance. Some of the examples are Lavender, Lime,Geranium, Chamomile, Rose, rosewood, Mandarin, Lemon, Neroli, Bergamot, laurel, Sweet Orange, and sweet basil etc. Apart from this many herbs and spices contain linalool, such as coriander, cinnamon, clove and mint. The coriander seeds are comprised of linalool which varied from 50% to 70%.
Uses:
- Linalool Natural is a very common fragrance ingredient for the formulation of several fragrances used in cosmetics, soaps, detergents, pharmaceuticals and food.
- Linalool has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, sedative, Anti-oxidant, anti-anxiety effects and stress-relieving properties.
- Apart from several medicinal uses it is also used to reduce the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.
