Balsam Tolu is a brownish yellow colored viscous resin possessing aromatic taste. The cinnamon and vanilla like aroma of the resin make it a good flavoring agent and due to this kind of aroma the resin is used in perfumery industry. In addition, it has mild antiseptic and expectorant properties.
