Cumin is native to Egypt, however now cultivated inside the Mediterranean place especially in France, Morocco, Spain, India, and America. The oil is specifically produced in India, France, and Spain.
Nowadays, cumin seed is mainly cultivated within the Indian subcontinent, Northern Africa, Mexico, Chile, and China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Egypt, Iran, Chile, Mexico, and Turkey.
In India, its manufacturing is concentrated in particular in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and some elements of Uttar Pradesh.
Cumin is obtained from the Cuminum cyminum, a small flowering shrub. The pale yellow oil with an amazing penetrating scent has excellent antioxidant and antiseptic properties.
